Want some new music recs or to potentially bond with someone over some of your fave music? Look no further.

Half of 2022 is past us, and with that is 6 months of music listening and new finds to share with you all.

I’m no music connoisseur, no music junkie, nor would I dare to claim I have some superior ear for music than most. I do, however, listen to a lot of music.

As a college student, music gets me through each day. I wake up and get ready, music. I’m driving to class? Music. I’m waiting on class to start? Music. Class ends? Headphones go back in. Doing homework? You guessed it, I’m listening to music. Struggling to fall asleep? Melatonin. Jk, it’s also music.

Last year, my total listening minutes on Spotify teetered just above 77,000 minutes. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a smallll tiny desire in the back of my mind to one-up myself each year.

Anyway, here’s just a little list of 50 of my fave songs over the past 6 months. I listen to a lot of genres, but a lot of my taste falls in pop/rock/indie/alternative. Some of these are a bit old, some of them came out within a year. Maybe you’ll see some you know, maybe you’ll find some new faves, or maybe you’ll ask yourself why you clicked on this article in the first place. In any event, take a look at let me know what you think! Each song is hyperlinked with a YouTube video for your (hopeful) listening pleasure if you wanna hear it. Let’s talk about it in the comments.

Taylor Swift, from Deadline
Wallows, from AXS
keshi, from Out Now Magazine
mxmtoon, from Spotify
Conan Gray, from Universal Music
